By built-in advanced Intel® GME965+ICH8M Express chipset and dual core technology, this high performance single board computer provides excellent performance to handle multi-task and to run multiple applications simultaneously.

Additionally, the SBC86840 supports high bandwidth dual-channel DDR2 533/667 DIMM up to 4GB memory and equips signal/dual channel 24-bit LVDS and PCIe x16 expansion interfaces. This industrial-grade motherboard possesses many traits and delivers a fine tool for system integrator developing a wide range of embedded applications such as gaming, entertainment, POS, DVR, ITS, interactive clients, industrial control and automation, digital security surveillance, and medical imaging applications. To meet a lot of application needs, the SBC86840 supports four Serial ATA high-speed data transferring at up to 3 GB/s for improved data access. The onboard Winbond 83627HG-AW Super I/O chipset supports one RS-232/422/485 port and three RS-232 serial ports. Other I/O features include eight high-speed USB 2.0 ports (4 ports through I/O bracket & 4 ports by pin-header), two IEEE1934a, Dual Intel LAN and Watchdog Timer. Besides, the feature of CPU temperature detection (Winbond 83627HG-AW) increases system security and stability.
